Abstract:
This study analyzes and compares the advantages and disadvantages of mainstream coal-fired units coupled with biomass power generation technologies, elaborates on the research progress of direct and indirect mix burning technologies, and evaluates the techno-economic performance of coal-fired units coupled with biomass power generation. The results show that: When 10% biomass is added to coal-fired boilers, which has little impact on the overall efficiency of coal-fired power generation system and can optimize the NOx emission index of boiler flue gas.Currently, the main reasons for the low economic feasibility of biomass co-firing are high raw material costs and low carbon trading prices. Utilizing marginal land in China to cultivate energy crops as a biomass alternative could support higher co-firing ratios in coal-fired units in the future. Considering the inevitable trend of China's carbon market integrating with international standards, coal-fired unit coupled with biomass power generation technology is expected to achieve favorable economic feasibility in the coming years.
